The PR Reviewer I Couldn't Buy

I'm late to the chorus of developers leaving GitHub for self-hosted Forgejo, and the closed-source AI reviewers I'd come to rely on don't run there. I asked Claude what it would take to build one. The feasibility study said half a year; the first end-to-end thread took an evening. This is what I learned about reimplementing CodeRabbit's architecture in the open, why I'd still recommend CodeRabbit to anyone on a platform they support, and the techniques that turn out to matter for agentic systems in production.
